If anyone
has been to our church they will know that I am not from these parts. People say my accent
gives me away. I was born and raised in the West Midlands, in a small town called
Wednesbury. A place familiar to most because of its notorious traffic jams as it is
situated near the M5/M6 interchange. ...
I had never been a religious
person, never said my prayers or went to church. However, at the age of seventeen, I
had a dramatic life changing experience. I met with God for the first time, coming face to
face with the realisation that I was a sinner in need of His forgiveness and presence in
my life. Within a week of that experience, I found myself one Sunday afternoon in 1989,
committing my life to the Lord and accepting Him as my own personal saviour....
Soon after this I felt as though God was
calling me to some sphere of full time service. This
sense of calling stayed with me for four years, sometimes stronger than at other times,
until in 1993 it became a burning passion that would not go away. I knew that there was
nothing else for me to do. So a year after that and with the Lords miraculous
provision, I went to Capernwray Bible School near the Lake District for a year. Following
my time there, I continued my training for another 3 years, this time at Moorlands Bible
College, in Christchurch, near Bournemouth.
Within a month of leaving college I was
married to my beautiful wife, Joy. Joy is from South Staffordshire and has also sensed a
calling to full time ministry. Almost a year after our marriage Joy and I arrived here at
Whiteshill Evangelical Church, and we have since been blessed with two lovely children,
Daniel and Rachel...
Both Joy and I have a passion to see people
come to know Christ as their saviour. This is one of the main priorities at Whiteshill. To
make disciples of all nations was part of Jesus great
commission before he ascended into heaven.
Making disciples is much more than
seeing people become Christians though, the Bible teaches that we all need to become mature,
attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Eph 4:13). This
is our desire here at Whiteshill, and through studying Gods word, seeking Him in
prayer and encouraging and supporting each other, we endeavour to, in some measure by His
grace attain to that fullness...
At Whiteshill all are made welcome,
so whether you are visiting the area, new to the area or looking for a place of worship,
